With three signature hair and beauty salons on and off The Strip, Michael Boychuck has taken the title of top stylist in Las Vegas thanks to an impressive clientele including longtime friends Paris and Nicky Hilton, mom Kathy Hilton, Fergie, J.Lo, Gwen Stefani and Lindsay Lohan all singing his praises. Now he’s signed on as a consultant to the new Miss Nevada USA organization led by another one of his clients, 2005 Miss USA Shanna Moakler.

Michael and Shanna, who has tapped Michael to be a judge at the 2012 Miss Nevada USA Pageant, will team this Sunday with 2011 Miss Nevada USA Sarah Chapman at Michael’s Amp Salon in the Palms to kick off a recruiting campaign for next year’s Nevada contestants.

Meantime, in a bid to combat the appallingly high rate of high school dropouts -- 7,000 a day, one every 26 seconds nationwide -- 2011 Miss America Teresa Scanlan, also crowned here at Planet Hollywood, has recorded a new PSA video message along with NBA star LeBron James for yesterday’s launch of the initiative Boost Nation sponsored by the U.S. Army and the Ad Council.

In an email, Teresa, the Miss Nebraska who was 17 when she was crowned Miss America this year, told me, “I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful program that promotes the importance of education, which is the cornerstone of the Miss America Scholarship program.

“Encouraging students to stay in school is one of the most important messages that I have to communicate as Miss America, as I travel the country and share with them the significance of staying in school and pursuing their educational dreams.” Read more ........
